For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus, Christ our Lord.
The cross was the price required for our salvation. Jesus stepped from heaven to pay this for all of us. He did not withdraw from His Father’s will. He knew our needs. He knew we could not be reconciled without His sacrifice. It would require His blood to cover our sins, guilt, shame and separation. He stepped forward and accepted God’s plan for redemption. He without sin bore our sin. He accepted crucifixion and burial to assure our eternal redemption. Praying this day we recognize the cost paid for us.
