Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence.
We have all had moments when we feel lost, hopeless, confused or reeling in self pity. The easiest way to flee from those moments and days is to remember whose we are. We need to remind ourselves we stand in the presence of our Heavenly Father. We are never out of His sight. We are never out of His care. The seasons of our lives change. God does not change. We rarely like change. We like comfort of the usual. There are times the comfort of despair seems better than a refreshment from God. Why? Maybe it’s fear of the unknown. Fear of having to stretch our wings. Fear of the thoughts of others. Fear we just don’t have the strength. His presence can knock down every wall of doubt and fear we have. I once saw an acronym for fear that explained it as False Evidence Appearing Real. The enemy surrounds us with lies, disguise and fear. Jesus is the Truth and the Light that dispels all things false and dark. His presence helps in every situation. Praying this day we praise Him for the help of His presence.
