And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.

There’s much to ponder within this verse. Shepherds hurried to find the Great Shepherd and found Him lying in a manger. A manger is a feed trough. The Living Bread presented in an object for feeding.  I think maybe the real lesson is in the fact that these sheep herders came searching in haste. They hurried to find Christ.  Shouldn’t we be hurrying to find Him? Shouldn’t we be searching for the Shepherd? Shouldn’t we be feeding on the Bread of Life? Shouldn’t we be praising God this Christmas day for His gift of His Presence in our lives? Praying this day your Christmas is filled with the Presence of His love, grace and mercy for these three gifts are more valuable than gold, frankincense and myrrh.
