When we walk with the Lord in the light of His word, what a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His goodwill, He abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share, but our toil He doth richly repay; not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross. But is blest if we trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
No other way to be happy but to trust and obey. The secret to true happiness in trusting God with everything. We have a difficult time with this, don’t we? Trust becomes easier as we reflect and remember the answered prayers, the comfort provided, the strength given for our next step and His everlasting love and Presence. We can trust Him. His word promises us He doesn’t want to harm us, but to prosper our lives. He promises to be our refuge and protector. He guides us even through the vallys of the shadows of death. Our part of the relationship is to obey. Let’s be truthful, that’s even harder for us in most circumstances. We become modern day Moses and come up with hundreds of reasons why we can’t do what He’s asked us to do. In doing so, our excuses cost us our blessings. Trust and obey for there’s no other way. Once we learn this our happiness will be eternal. Praying this day we work on our trusting and obedience.
