So rend your heart, and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm.
God wants our torn and broken hearts. He honors our repentance. Not with anger but with mercy. We are never without hope. His grace is never ending for us when we come to Him for forgiveness. His help and salvation offered for returning hearts. Hearts that desire to worship and obey Him. His word says “all of heaven rejoices when one sinner repents.” The cross is worth everything to Christ as a sinner repents. God does not wish for one soul to be lost. He is searching hearts that truly desire Him. He isn’t impressed with outward theatrics of professing our “religion.” He desires our deepest worship. Praying this day we rend our hearts before our gracious God.
