To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
God enjoys exchanges. He loves to give to His children. As we look at this verse we see the exchanges aren’t even or fair. We come out so much better. That’s God’s plan for us in all things. With Him we get better. Beauty for ashes. Joy replaces mourning. Praise exchanged for our heavy hearts. Righteousness replaces our sin. Forgiveness overcomes deserved condemnation. Life reigns victorious over death. We are blessed. We are forgiven. Praying this day we bring our doubts, sins, fears and sorrow for divine exchanges from our Heavenly Father.
