Just as I am, without one plea, but that Thy blood was shed for me. And that Thou bidd'st me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come! I come! Just as I am, Thou wilt receive, wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; because Thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God I come! I come!
Just as we are. We don’t have to “get right” first. He welcomes us while we are yet sinners. He loves us and desires to pardon, cleanse and relieve our sins and guilt. His blood is our cleanser. His blood changes us. Our sinfulness is exchanged for His righteousness. What a trade! We have no plea. Nothing we can say or do brings us into His righteousness. His promise of Calvary believed allows our salvation. Praying this day our response is, “O, Lamb of God I come!”
