So you shall rejoice in every good thing which the Lord your God has given to you and your house, you and the Levite and the stranger who is among you.

The definition for the word ‘rejoice’ is to feel or show great joy or delight.  God has provided so much for each of us, our families and our friends. Rejoicing should be an ongoing state of expression in our lives. This verse calls us to rejoice even with the strangers in our midst. We are asked to be happy for everyone’s blessings. God’s blessings are all around us. Yet, if we were honest we sometimes feel others don’t deserve the blessings they receive or we think we are more deserving. The enemy shoots that dart of jealousy right into our heart of joy. We begin rationalizing and judging and before we know it joy is replaced with bitterness and resentment. In those weak moments we might just need to pause and set our minds to re-joy, bringing ourselves back to the beautiful moment of the blessing. God is good, He is faithful and He is forever providing blessings to us, our house, our friends and yes, even to strangers in our midst. Praying this day we do not give up our joy over the blessings that surround us.
