What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer! Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged, take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful, Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness, take it to the Lord in prayer.
No one knows us like Jesus. There is nothing hidden from Him. Our sorrows, griefs, pain, and sin are known to Him. He is ready to talk about any of it and all of it. Prayer is a privilege we often take for granted. It’s not merely a few words spoken over a meal or a quick bed time sign off. Prayer should be deep conversations with our God. It should be our pouring out of ourselves before Him. He knows our weaknesses and failures. He still loves us. He knows our disappointments and still wants to comfort. He knows us and still calls us His own. Praying this day we take everything to the Lord in prayer.
