Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls-----yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will joy in God of my salvation.

Joy in the God of our salvation!  Things and circumstances may suspend a dark cloud around us but God, the Great “I AM” remains faithful. Salvation has been secured no matter what calamities befall. We may not have what we want, but we have God.  We have what we need. We need Him.  We need His strength. We need His peace. We need His wisdom. We need His love.  In the depth of disparity He is able to lift us up.  Salvation has made us His for eternity. Mercy and grace have made us righteous in His sight. All other things come in second to this. The pit of misery is not our home. The joy of salvation is our residence.  Praying this day we seek the joy that has been won through the cross of our Savior.
